About our insulation contractor company in Maywood

White spray foam fills the cavities between exposed wooden roof and wall framing.

How I got into insulation

My first career wasn't insulation. I kept the schedule for a busy company, and that's where I learned what it costs people when someone skips a step to finish early. I learned this trade working next to an experienced insulation crew, then started Steady Maywood Spray Foam Insulation here in Maywood in 2017.

Homeowners, landlords and some business owners call us when a room won't stay comfortable, like a hot upstairs or the room over the garage, or when old insulation has to come out. I still come out myself to look, because I want you to understand your own house before we touch it. Once you know why we seal the gaps first and insulate second, you can judge our work, and anyone else's. You'll find the rest of what we do on our home page.

What you can expect from us

  • You hear the plan first

Before anything goes into your attic, I walk the space with you and explain what we'll do, in what order and why. If a step doesn't make sense, ask, and I'll go over it again until it does.

  • The crew knows what comes first

The same person who looks at your job plans it, so nothing gets lost between the estimate and the work. Our installers show up knowing which step comes first, like clearing out old, soiled insulation before any new material goes down.

  • We check what it would cover

We look for things that should be fixed before insulation goes over them, like old wiring, damp walls or a gas appliance that needs a safety check. Fresh insulation on top of a problem only hides it.

  • We walk the finished job with you

A lead installer stays on site and goes over the finished work with you before the crew packs up. You see what was done and where, so you're not just taking our word for it.

Our license and the city's permit rules

  • Licensed and insured

We're licensed and insured. The City of Maywood checks that a contractor working here holds a valid state license and the required workers' compensation insurance, so it's fair to ask whoever you hire to show you both.

  • Permits handled with the city

The city's Building Division issues building permits, which it requires for new construction and in most cases for changes, replacements and remodeling, and a missing permit can bring fines for both the owner and the contractor. When your job needs one, we pull it, book the inspection and keep you posted, and if you're not sure about yours, we'll help you ask the division.
